As a Junior Purchaser you shall perform such duties and responsibilities pertaining to the Supply Chain department, as may be determined and delegated to you from time to time by management or otherwise commensurate to your role having to do with industries standards, which duties and responsibilities shall include, without limiting the generality of the foregoing:

Key Responsibilities:

This position has the primary responsibility of supporting the Supply Chain department to help meet customer order commitments and maintain inventory levels within approved guidelines.  As part of a multi-functional, multi-site team, this position will also have the responsibility of supporting the procurement processes over a number of our Divisions.

Your specific roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Follow-up on orders that have been received/confirmed with the supplier
  • Prepare and distribute weekly inventory reports and others as needed
  • Follow-up with suppliers on purchase orders placed by other Purchasers to confirm receipt of purchase order, pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Expedite purchase orders when required to meet delivery requirements
  • Communicate to end users any deviations to required delivery dates and approvals of substitute materials
  • Assist with maintenance of data integrity in the ERP system
  • Update supplier and pricing information in the ERP system
  • Assist in resolving supplier invoice discrepancies
  • Administrative assistance for the Supply Chain team; contribute to reporting requirements by gathering and analyzing data from the ERP system
  • Prepare purchase orders for materials and services as required
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing and institutionalizing sound purchasing practices and procedures throughout our diverse group of companies
  • Other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned

  • Previous purchasing experience an asset
  • Working knowledge of industry and products an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
