ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Junior Engineer located in Lloydminster, Alberta.  As a Junior Engineer, you are responsible for process and mechanical design and estimating of oilfield processing equipment. As part of the technical services team you will work closely with Engineers, Drafters, Estimators, and Project Coordinators’ to complete technical tasks associated with oilfield equipment manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate bid proposals including estimates, scope of work, and schedules for manufacturing: tanks, vessels, oil/gas separators, compressor packages, metering packages, and related oil and gas process equipment
  • Process and mechanical design of Foremost products which include tanks, vessels, compressors and separator packages
  • Work with Drafting, Quality Assurance and Operations to ensure manufacturability of the product is maintained
  • Design items in CAD, FEA and other software
  • Identify key parameters, specifications, codes, and critical issues that may impact project costs
  • Collaborate with engineering, drafting, manufacturing, Project Coordinators, sales, and purchasing during bid preparation
  • Provide customers with clarifications and revisions of bid proposals
  • Work with vendors and sublets to source pricing on their products or services
  • Facilitate smooth transition of awarded projects with the coordinating and operations departments
  • Growth opportunities from this position are Engineering, Estimating, Sales, Project Coordinating, and Operations Management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Eligible for registration as an E.I.T. or P.Eng.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and P&IDs
  • Field experience is a definite asset
  • Willingness to learn
